Applied Topology & Geometry
Geometric and topological methods for understanding structure, data, dynamics, and complex systems.
Disentangled in a personal website by Boudewijn Bosch. It was born out of my own curiosity in applied mathematics, as well as a desire to make direct computational implementations more accessible. I’ll mainly focus on applying my two favorite topics: topology and geometry. On this site, I make a very strong distinction between theory and applications. During any discussion on theory, I make an effort of already incorporating appropriate computational tools, which will eventually used in applications.
The information on this site will be far from all-encompassing. For details, I will refer to appropriate sources for further reading. I will assume knowledge from the introductory courses on: linear algebras, differential geometry, topology and group theory.
With regards to applications, I would like to point out that the ideas and methods I discuss are (very often) not my own, but rather derived from existing papers. I do attempt to make adjustments or conduct small experiments. It is my intention to get the reader up to speed with computational implementations as quickly as possible.
I keep the amount of AI usage for the textual content on this site to a minimum. I am not categorically against the use of AI, but given that already so many websites on the internet are generated by AI, I prefer this site to remain more personal.
